Additional extensions

SIP Talk offers 10, 10 and 20 extension numbers on the SIP Global, SIP Plus and SIP Max plans respectively.

Incoming caller ID

Want to see who is calling you? Incoming caller ID comes as standard

Outgoing caller ID

Want your name or number to come up when you call someone? Don't worry, we offer that too.

  • Outgoing caller ID, supports CID passthrough (specified by remote device)
    CID passthrough is a fancy way of saying you can control the caller id when you are diverting calls to your VoIP account. For example, if you were absent from work and were diverting your calls to your home VoIP account, when a call came from someone to your work phone that gets diverted, the caller id will read that person's number and not "work". Basically it cuts the middle man out to make life easier for you!
  • "Private Number"
    Here we offer the option of giving you a private number, if you're after a little privacy.

Call diversion (configurable per DID)

Going to be on holiday or out and about and need your calls diverted? No problems, you can organise all of that through the user portal.

Call routing to SIP and IAX accounts

This just means you can divert your calls to another SIP or IAX account.

Instant call detail record (CDR) updates – data available as soon as call hangs up

  • Duration, billable duration, on-net call tagging, IP logging

Wish you had a record of who called you on what time on what day? No problem, our service will keep all of those details for you.

Music on hold (royalty free music included)

One of our brand new features is the availability of music on hold! You can bop along while you're waiting on hold and even have the option to select your own music.

Call transfer (to on-net and off-net numbers)

Transfer your call to another number in the simplest of steps.

Voicemail to email

Voicemail to email is a handy feature where an audio file of your voicemail, can be send to the email address of your choice.

Call recording

Heard something important but can't remember the details? Don't stress, call recording can be turned on to give you a complete audio history of all of your calls.

Time service (current time 09001)

Lost your watch and wish you knew the time? No problems, just call our time service!

Line text/echo service (09002)

You can call this number at any time to check or monitor the quality of your line connection.

Caller ID test service (09003)

Want to see what your name or number looks like on your outgoing calls?

Account check service (09005)

Forgot your password, or need to change your email address? No problem, by calling the account check service we can list all of your account details and then you can head to the website to change them!

Account code test service (09006)

Dial this number to check information about which account number your VoIP line is being billed to.

Local number autoprefixing (automatically stamps area code cased on caller ID)

Just puts the prefix numbers before your number automatically based on where you are calling from.

Enable/disable account

This feature allows you to enable or disable your account through our user portal

Enable/disable DID

Don't want to use one of your DID's or want to start up an old one again? This feature will help

Diversion source tracking and logging

If a call is diverted, the source, diverted number and destination number are logged for your convenience.

NAT support (can be configured per account)

Allows connection of devices behind security firewalls.

Channel limiting

Don't want your line clogged too much? Channel limiting allows you to limit the number of concurrent calls on an account. Most home users will be using 1-2 lines.

Multi-way conferencing

Want to have a group chat with all of your friends? SIP Talk supports multi-way conferencing for all your conference call needs.

SRTP Encryption service (client support required, certificates required)

Just a fancy way of saying encryption for increased security – not often required but useful for legal and financial industries

User agent tracking (enables statistic collection)

Allows you to see which device each account is connected with. For example, you will be able to see if you're using a FRITZ!Box, or a softphone like X-lite or Bria.

Dialling restrictions

Allows you to put a number of different kinds of dialling restrictions on your SIP Talk account. For some of the options see below.
