Best Practices

  • • Change the default admin password after initial setup for security
  • • Keep your phone firmware updated for best compatibility and features
  • • Use a static IP or DHCP reservation for your phone for consistent access
  • • Document your extension assignments for easy reference
  • • Test both incoming and outgoing calls after registration

You need three pieces of information from your Siptalk portal: SIP Server URL, Username, and Password. These are found in the manage screen of your device extension.

What is the default login for Yealink phones?

The default username and password are both "admin". It's recommended to change these after initial setup for security.

How do I find my Yealink phone's IP address?

On the phone, go to MENU > STATUS and look for the IPv4 address. You'll need to be on the same network as the phone to access its web interface.

Why do I need to configure STUN?

STUN (Session Traversal Utilities for NAT) helps your phone work properly behind firewalls and routers by handling NAT traversal, ensuring reliable two-way audio.

What if my phone doesn't register after following these steps?

Check that your firewall allows SIP traffic (port 5060) and RTP ports (10000-20000). Also verify the registration details are entered correctly and your internet connection is stable.

Will these settings work for all Yealink models?

Yes, these settings work for all current Yealink models. Older models may have slightly different menu layouts, but the fields to configure remain the same.
